Today I had a chance to see a lot of black again - this time at St John's Wood High Street. I am starting to think that all the creativity that goes into producing a fashion collection is not coming through into the every day life the way it could or even the way it did 30 or 40 years ago.
Though fashion is and should be open to interpretation, what I keep seeing on the street is this or that variation of black. The idea that a woman needs to be a certain weight and shape in order to look good in fashion has pushed wast majority of women out of the major interesting trends. Add to that the fact that black is supposed to make a woman look thinner than she is and most women could just easily turn to black and leave majority of fashion in the shops.
The young lady with the two dogs manages to pull away from the generally dark outlook.
