Day 8 - A Tan Handbag

The photo is not taken by me,

Gone are the days, thankfully, when most women used to wear very similar looking handbags. Structured with metal clips at the top in a shape of two marbles kissing or some other interesting design.. Square things with medium length handles worn on the wrist or elbow. As nice and as nostalgic they may be they are mainly symbols of another time.

These days handbags have a life of their own, their own meaning and status. They also very much convey the status of the wearer. Like men and their watches, woman use handbags as shorthand to try and find out a bit about each other.

In my journey through the street fashion I have noticed that apart from the obvious black there is a certain handbag that is often seen on the street. A Tan Handbag. Tan is an interesting colour but not one that is quite easy to wear. With a bit of luck it can work really well.

Today an update - photos of tourists from South Korea with their own tan handbags!
